STAY LEAN DURING THE HOLIDAYS

You worked too hard this year to get healthy and lose weight, don’t blow it this holiday season. You don’t want to have to start all over again next year, do you? I didn’t think so.
Here are a few quick tips for staying lean during the holidays, plus a gift for reading this. 🙂

HAVE A PLAN.

The biggest mistake people make during the holiday season is not having a game plan their nutrition and fitness.

This is actually one of the major reasons why people fail at their weight loss goals in general but especially true during these upcoming months of holiday parties and social gatherings.

“PROPER PREPARATION PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE” is Coach Karen’s favorite quote and is the foundation to our programs at bodhi by anthony monetti.

Having a plan when entering “the season of baking desserts” (a recent tv commercial referred to it as) is crucial, and will prevent over eating and over drinking which will help keep you lean and on track with your healthy life goals.

Eat this lose fat quick tip – Plan your weekly “relaxed” meal for that special holiday event and stick to one meal, not one day, but ONE nice meal with your favorite foods or drinks. Plan to incorporate an extra workout during the weeks of holiday parties and maybe a nice walk after a large meal to help metabolize the extra food.

REMEMBER HOW YOU FELT THE LAST TIME.

I know this helps me a great deal when I’m entering a food focused party or holiday season.

Let’s see, the last time I ate all the foods and drank all the wine I felt like a 5lb sausage stuffed into a 1lb bag the next day. My mom would call this a “blivet”.

Anyway, the next day I was swollen, groggy, frustrated and pissed off at myself for not sticking to my plan. Oh and my workouts sucked for the next 2 days because I had zero energy.

Eat this lose fat quick tip – Take a few minutes before you enter into this holiday season and reflect on the misery of emotions you felt the last time you attacked the buffet like you were going to the electric chair. Then, set your intentions on eating foods and portions that are in line with your goals so you can wake up tomorrow with energy and a sense of pride that you practiced discipline and executed your plan properly!

DON’T EXPECT OTHERS TO SUPPORT YOU.

Huge one here. Your healthy lifestyle goals aren’t necessarily in line with those around you, including close friends and family members. We all know, there are some people in our lives that love to see us fail because they themselves can not commit or stay disciplined long enough to achieve their weight loss goals.

Peer pressure and the need to feel accepted are major sabotages especially during the holiday season. “One piece of this magically delicious ooey, gooey chocolate peanut butter ice cream cake wont hurt you” or “I made this JUST for you, you HAVE TO try it” Heard this before? Me too, but I’m over it and don’t feel bad one bit when I look in the mirror and see the masterpiece of a physique I have created because of discipline and hard work.

Eat this lose fat quick tip – Be you and stay true to YOUR goals. The only one you need support and acceptance from is that person looking back at you in the mirror. And that person looks damn good naked.
